Information & Digital Services and Operations (IDSO) provides an extensive global portfolio of IT services to Shell. Our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provide a key tool to monitor services and supplier performance and as such timely, accurate and high-quality reporting data, along with required data analysis is key to ensure IDSO provide secure, reliable, and affordable operations and services.

The Data Analyst will be part of the Performance Reporting team which resides in IDSO Strategy and Planning. You will be accountable to analyze data and produce various types of IDSO Performance Reports and Data Analysis leading to insights. Types of analysis and reporting ranges from services, supplier service level performance (including financial penalties) and satisfaction surveys. These data analysis-based insights enable IDSO to track its performance, quality of service delivery and highlight improvement areas.

What’s the role


As Data Analyst, you will work closely with multiple teams that involve many players; mainly across IDSO, key suppliers as well as with the different businesses and functions to obtain/gather the right information and ensure a high level of data quality in the reported or analyzed insights output.

Aside from above, you are expected for the following:

  • Data engineering and Data analysis are two activities the individual needs to contribute to with relevant experience with market standard tooling knowledge.
  • Consolidate and analyze data to identify trends, underlying issues, patterns, or insights in need of improvements and proposing appropriate remediation to the relevant teams.
  • Prepare and present accurate and insightful IDSO Supplier’s performance reports and/or dashboards/ insights to enable effective, informed management decision making.
  • Pulling data from various parties, sources (like Business Objects, Data warehouses, and other required tools). Perform data consolidation, data formatting, data validation, reporting and most importantly Data Analysis.
  • Data Ingestion & transformation using Azure Platform (ADLS, ADF) from various sources.
  • Processing, cleansing, and validating the data to be used for analysis and analyzing large amounts of information to find patterns and solutions.
  • Drive insight generation by independently collating data, analyzing data, building models, using statistics and several data analysis techniques.
  • Experience in developing end-to-end models using machine learning algorithms for predictive, forecasting, and other modelling in a business environment, from model creation to optimization and sometimes embedding self-learning into the models.
  • Proactively work with key stakeholders and/or suppliers to ensure requirements for reporting are identified, implemented, and embedded in a standard way.
  • Review current standards and methodologies and offer suggestions on ways to improve. Examine and evaluate purpose and content of reports to develop new or optimize existing reports.

What we need from you

Qualifications:

  • Expertise to Azure data platform components: Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Data Factory, Data bricks, SQL PAAS
  • Experience in SQL programming required.
  • Experience in developing visual reports, dashboards using Power BI or other visualization tool.
  • Experience in Azure data platform components: Azure Data Lake Store, Azure Data Factory, Data bricks, SQL PAAS
  • Expertise in at least one Data Science language such as Python (Pandas, Scikit Learn, etc.), and R. Knowledge on ML methods like Decision forest, NLP, Time Series etc.
  • Statistical skills such as knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression etc.
